It took 23 skilled professionals an astounding 8,344 hours to bring this life-sized model to life. Featuring 768 LEGO motors spread across eight motor packs, the P1 showcases an electric drivetrain that allowed Norris to complete a full lap of Silverstone, clocking speeds close to 40 mph (64 km/h).

This project wasn’t LEGO’s first attempt at building a real car—previously, the company built a full-scale Bugatti Chiron in 2018. However, the McLaren P1 took things to another level with its ability to navigate racetrack corners, marking a new milestone in LEGO’s journey toward functional design.

Driving the LEGO P1 was no ordinary task, even for a seasoned racer like Lando Norris. The experience differed from his usual F1 machines, yet he managed to cover the 3.66-mile circuit with ease.
